This will be my 8th year teaching guitar. I have been playing in show bands professionally for more than 8 years. I have a massive repertoire of songs. For serious players there are the option to follow a syllabus and write grade exams. I can also accommodate players who would like to play the guitar just for fun. All ages welcome, young or old, serious or just for fun. In your first lesson (free) we will do some basic tests, discuss your musical influences/interests and I will explain exactly what we will be doing and how the classes work. Here the student can also get a good feel for the environment and I will gladly answer any questions or uncertainties. In our first meeting I will give the student a detailed explanation of his/her particular guitar and inspect the guitar for any problems that would make playing on the instrument difficult (some guitars' initial setup make it difficult to play for example the "action" of the guitar - This will be explained in detail). I can also accommodate those that are a bit uncertain if they do want to pursue playing the guitar. I have extra acoustic and electric guitars for use in class. If decided to pursue playing the guitar, I will then gladly assist in choosing the right guitar to buy and tools that would be needed to start with. Student will receive paperwork after every lesson with the work done in that particular lesson. I also work with guitar backtracks and can slow them down to accommodate for beginner levels. This way the student can play with the track at home and feel the rhythm and understand exactly how the chords, rhythm, melody and notes are applied to a particular song. My premises is conveniently situated close to Durbanville and Brackenfell.
